Leadership begins where frustration could have taken root

● Halfway through the Cebu mission, our strong three-person team suddenly weakened—one member had severe cramps, while another was experiencing stomach problems. Both tried helping, but soon had to sit out, leaving one person with nearly all the work. I worried that resentment would grow, so after the event, I spoke with her, thanking her for carrying the load and reassuring the others that it wasn’t their fault. That conversation mattered. It turned what could have been bitterness into understanding. Leadership, I learned, is less about control and more about keeping hearts aligned when things fall apart.

● Summary:
Illness tested our team, but empathy held us together.
